Ordering the wrong excavator part is expensive — return shipping to China can cost more than the part itself. The good news: almost every heavy equipment part can be identified with 100% certainty before you order, if you know where to look. This guide shows you exactly how.
1. Start With the Part Number on the Old Part
The part number is usually stamped, etched, or printed directly on the component. Common locations:
- Solenoid valves: stamped on the valve body or the coil (e.g., Komatsu 20Y-60-11713, CAT 121-1491)
- Fuel injector nozzles: etched on the nozzle body (e.g., DLLA154P332, DSLA150P1247)
- Sensors: printed on the sensor housing (e.g., 0281006372, 3967252)
- Hydraulic pump parts: on the pump nameplate — note the full pump model (e.g., K3V112DT), not just the brand
- Seal kits: measure the old seals if no number exists — bore diameter, rod diameter, and groove width are enough
Take a clear photo of the marking. Phone cameras struggle with etched numbers — try angled light or a pencil rubbing.
2. Use Your Machine’s Serial Number, Not Just the Model
A “Komatsu PC200” spans decades of production with different parts across serial ranges. The serial number plate (usually in the cab or on the frame) narrows fitment to the exact production batch. When contacting any supplier, always provide: brand + model + serial number + the old part number.
3. Decode What the Number Tells You
OEM part numbers follow patterns. Denso fuel system numbers start with 095000 or 093400; Bosch with 0445; Delphi with 9308. Hydraulic valve numbers from Komatsu often start with 20Y or 21W. Recognizing the family tells you which aftermarket cross-references to check.
4. Aftermarket vs Genuine: What Actually Matters
For wear items — nozzles, seal kits, coils, filters — quality aftermarket parts perform identically at a fraction of the price. For precision-matched assemblies (complete ECUs, calibrated injectors), genuine or OEM-channel parts are safer. We sell aftermarket replacement components and always verify fitment against your part number before dispatch.
5. When You Can’t Find the Number
Send us your machine brand, model, serial number, and photos of the old part and its nameplate. We source across China’s manufacturer network and confirm the match before you pay. Request a part here or message us on WhatsApp — we aim to reply within 24 hours.
